The entertainment world went into shock this week as Bridget Jones’ Diary actress Renee Zellweger hit the red carpet with what looked like a completely different face. Her signature squinty eyes looked to have been changed from almond to oval shape, as well as a brow lift and possibly a more chiseled jaw.
“I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,” she told People magazine. “People don’t know me [as] healthy for a while,” says Zellweger. “Perhaps I look different. Who doesn’t as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I’m happy.”
This wasn’t some “did she or didn’t she” speculation-the star clearly looked completely different, and fans took to Twitter posting about her new look.
@ajaeger16 tweeted, “The problem w/ Renée Zellweger’s face is not that she’s aging. It’s that she stopped aging naturally, went for plastic surgery and that’s sad.”
Fox 411 reported, “Zellweger told People all the fuss about her new look was ‘silly,’ and she was only addressing her changed face because she was being hounded by the press for answers.”
“[It] seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn’t exist won’t get off my porch until I answer the door,” Zellweger said.
Hmm. Nefarious? The fact is, she CLEARLY altered her appearance using plastic surgery to the point it was so obvious that people didn’t recognize her. If plastic surgery is so heinous and wicked…why did she opt for it?
