This morning I woke up bright and early to the sounds of my three boys giggling and laughing with each other. We are staying with my parents this weekend, in a one-room casita with two beds. We are happily squished and smashed in there, but even though it’s a little cramped, I found myself waking up this morning with overwhelming feelings of love for my boys. I am grateful to have a few nights I get to snuggle with them, and hear them breathe soundly right next to me. I am grateful we are all healthy in time for Thanksgiving as we’ve all been battling fevers, rashes, nausea, and aches for the past week. I am grateful to have my whole family together this weekend, along with my grandma and grandpa. I am grateful to have good food to eat-and INCREDIBLY grateful I don’t have to cook the turkey!

I will not be heading out today to do any Black Friday shopping. I believe in keeping the integrity of the day, at least for 24 hours, before even thinking about shopping for gifts. This holiday seems to be easily passed over, and I am sad about that. I love having a day full of gratitude and thanksgiving, a day to reflect on what is truly important before the craziness of Christmas begins.

What are you thankful for today?
