Russell Brand speaks out against porn, 50 Shades of Grey

Russell Brand is maybe one of the last people you’d expect to discuss the negative effects of pornography. But in a short clip for his YouTube channel, Brand brilliantly describes all the ways the media has it wrong.

“There’s a general feeling, isn’t there, in your core if you look at pornography that says, ‘This isn’t what’s the best thing for me to do,’ and ‘This isn’t the best use of my time now,’ I don’t put that laptop lid down and think, ‘There! What a productive piece of time spent connecting with the world.'”

Brand goes on to admit, “I feel like if I had total dominion over myself, I would never look at pornography again.”

He reads from several articles and studies that have proven the negative and damaging effects of both soft and hardcore porn.

It’s worth the few minutes to watch…even if Brand is, oddly, perched on the end of his bed, shirtless, with a towel wrapped around his shoulders. Little awkward…but again, very interesting.
